Warhammer fantasy battle, fresh from its 25th anniversary is coming to back to Gaelcon for more action and destruction than ever before, with tournaments to participation games and everything in between. Warhammer 40,000 returns this year bigger and better than ever.There will be battles for everyone to take part in! There is a large tournament, loads of participation games and there are whispers in the warp of the deployment of one of the Emperor’s largest god-machines on the battlefields. The Tournament is a 2-day event on Saturday and Sunday, with three games of two and a half hours per day. This year's tournament is a whfb-ireland.org ranking event for the qualification to ETC 2010. If you are not interested in the ETC don't worry, it won't affect your games at all. If you don't know what it is, check out the website and get involved if you want! BattleTech is back at Gaelcon! This year marks the game’s 25th anniversary – making it the longest consistently published science fiction game, and we’ve got a series of events planned to satisfy everyone’s need for mechanical carnage.
Once per month between May and October, in association with the Dublin Games Guild and Models Inc we will be running a game from the Jihad Turning Points: Luthien campaign pack. This story-based campaign’s battles are well-suited to both introduce new players to the BattleTech game and universe and to highlight to integrated and scalable nature of the current ruleset to existing ones. This will cumulate in an epic battle at Gaelcon itself using the new Quickstrike rules designed to allow for quick battles while retaining the feel of the more detailed core game.
